Terminal services

Telford International Railfreight Park (TIRFP) is a purpose built high quality terminal development comprising of five reception sidings, hardstanding and storage facilities, a fuelling station for road and rail, weighbridge and W8 loading gauge.

Specific services include:

Open access - the rail terminal is available to all hauliers and rail service providers, and is capable of handling intermodal traffic, bulk freights and wagon load or palletised traffic.

Rail access - the rail terminal has direct access onto the National Rail Network, allowing frequent and competitive rail services to all major destinations throughout the UK., with links to mainland Europe via the Channel Tunnel and Sea Ports.

Cost effective services - we work closely with our customers/partners to offer and deliver tailored, efficient and cost effective services which are essential in today's fast-changing marketplace.

Value added services - we can offer an extensive range of value added services including stock management, order picking, break bulk, packing and onward distribution, securing out-of-gauge loads for rail transit.

Products handled - the rail freight terminal has the capability to handle a wide variety of goods and materials including intermodal containers, ISO tanks, dry bulk, forestry products, steel, palletised cargo, roll cages, fresh produce etc.

Development plots - these are available on-site to enable covered loading/unloading and storage.

Storage - extensive open storage and transhipment area / limited undercover storage area. JGR can offer facilities for receipt/despatch/storage by pallet, by intermodal unit, by weight, or by dedicated space.

Handling equipment - 1 x Kalmar Reach Stacker for intermodal containers / ISO tanks. The terminal can also be equipped to handle a variety of goods dependant on customer requirements.

Vehicle turnaround times - the rail terminal has been designed and built to a high standard to provide rapid transfer of intermodal containers / ISO tanks and goods from conventional rail wagons.

We aim to provide the ultimate in operational efficiency for both road and rail operators by monitoring and reporting vehicle turnaround times, and actively promoting customers/hauliers to pre-advise us of their requirements to assist us in achieving our goals/objectives.

Road haulage - we can provide a 'Just-In-Time delivery' operation to suit individual requirements by utilising our fleet of road vehicles along with those of our road haulage partners.

Fuelling - on site fuelling facilities for road and rail.

Weighbridge - on site weighbridge to enable accurate dispatching.
